  • On-device only

Compression and conversion run in the browser — pixels never leave your phone or computer.

  • No photo upload

During processing the file body does not go over the network. Save mobile data: you are not shipping megabytes to someone else’s server.

  • No ads

We do not show ads and we do not accept your files. We physically never see your photos.

  • We don’t store photos

We do not save images on a server or in the cloud. Open, process, download.

How it works

Your photo stays in browser memory and is not sent to our server during compression. Opening the site still downloads the page as usual. For visit stats we may use Google Analytics: page, device type, button clicks — not file names or pixels. Language choice may be remembered in the browser. Analytics cookies are Google’s; you can limit them in browser settings. You can also press Offline in the header to cache this language’s tool pages and engines on your device; your files are still not uploaded.

JPG→PNG conversion does not restore detail already lost to JPEG. But you can edit further without new “JPEG generation” artifacts.

The PNG will be noticeably heavier than the source — normal for a lossless format. If size is the goal, prefer WebP or recompress JPG.

Processing is local: handy when a template, print shop, or stock asks for PNG specifically.

FAQ

Will the file get larger?

Often yes: lossless PNG is usually heavier than JPEG.

Will transparency appear?

No. JPEG has no alpha channel, so the PNG will be opaque. Transparency must be added separately.

Why do this if PNG is heavier?

When the next step is an editor or print workflow that needs PNG, not kilobyte savings.
