PixLocal

Privacy

We physically do not request, receive, store, or see your images. Period.

PixLocal is an online tool for image compression and conversion. File processing runs in your browser on your device. The contents of loaded images are not sent to our servers for compression or conversion.

Zero pixel transfer: during compression and conversion the file body is not sent to the PixLocal server and is not stored in the cloud. The site only serves static assets (HTML, JS, CSS); encoding runs through Canvas and local libraries in the browser. EXIF/GPS inspection, metadata stripping, and area redaction also run only on your device. You can verify this in the Network tab of DevTools while processing.

There are no ads on the site, and none are planned.

If a Google Analytics ID is set, we may collect anonymized technical visit statistics: page URL, device type, UI events (file selection, download, ZIP). File names and contents are not transmitted. Analytics cookies can be limited in your browser settings.

Optional Offline button: when you press it, the browser may cache static pages and processing libraries for the current language via a service worker. User file contents are never part of that cache.

How it works

Your photo stays in browser memory and is not sent to our server during compression. Opening the site still downloads the page as usual. For visit stats we may use Google Analytics: page, device type, button clicks — not file names or pixels. Language choice may be remembered in the browser. Analytics cookies are Google’s; you can limit them in browser settings. You can also press Offline in the header to cache this language’s tool pages and engines on your device; your files are still not uploaded.
